Ultraseal Impregnation process for casting materials

The Ultraseal impregnation process, utilises a range of patented recyclable resin systems to fill voids and eliminate micro porosity in a wide range of cast materials.

These include: aluminium, magnesium, cast iron and steel, carbon fibre composites, GRP mouldings and plastics.

When the impregnation process is complete, the treated component, which will not be damaged or distorted by the treatment, can be used without further treatment. The resin systems used are resistant to coolants, lubricants and a range of solvents and corrosive media.

Ultraseal has been granted all the necessary approvals required by our individual aerospace customers and we undertake all work to our AS9100 approval.

Key Properties

  • Low shrinkage during polymerisation resulting in outstanding void filling capacity.
  • Viscosity and capillary action optimised to enable faster deep penetration of micro porosity.
  • Tough and flexible in cured state to provide long-term resistance to chemical, temperature and vibration applications.
  • Excellent adhesion to cavity walls ensuring a permanent seal.
  • Operating temperature between 50ºC and +200ºC.
  • Reduced moisture entrapment and leak prevention.
  • Improved integrity of welds on cast iron and aluminium substrates.
