How we use Fluoropolymer for coating

PTFE is perhaps the best known of the fluorocarbons and this, typically, has a very low co-efficient of friction combined with excellent lubricity. It is non-stick, virtually chemically inert and can tolerate a wide range of temperatures.

Other fluoropolymers have been developed which are generally classed as thermo plastic, and with correct application and curing methods provide pore free chemically resistant films.

For any surface coating to achieve and maintain its designed properties, it is absolutely vital that the substrate surface is correctly prepared, we therefore meticulously carry out all recommended pre-treatment processes. We have also made substantial investment in the development of other pre-treatment methods which exceed the performance of those recommended.

Coatings for Surface Release

Composite fluoropolymer coatings are commonly used for surface release, they minimise the unwanted adhesion of products to production machinery, and reduce cleaning time; product wastage; contamination of product, and damage to machinery.

Coatings for Corrosion Resistance

We are able to provide sophisticated single or multipart surfaces which resist the attack of aggressive media and environments.

Coatings for Friction Control

Our coatings minimise the use of liquid lubricants, and the wear that naturally results from two surfaces moving in contact, reducing heat generation, running costs, maintenance costs, machine downtime and operational limitations. Where additional wear resistance is required, Armourcote® reinforced coating systems are recommended.
